Well, the 2nd batch of Amberlinks are now a week old, all doing well, and so far, fingers crossed, no casualties!!!! Bueno, el 2 º lote de Amberlinks son ahora una semana de edad, todos haciendo bien, y hasta la fecha, dedos cruzados, no bajas!!

They are enjoying life in their new extended brooder shed.  They have 2 heat lamps in there as its a much larger space, with 3 feeders and 4 drinkers.  I haven't used the trough feeders this time as after only 2 days, the other chicks were using the troughs as perches!  So we bought 3 5kgs feeders as you can see on the pictures to follow.  The chicks started using them straight away, and although I've put 2 of the small red and white drinkers in the shed, they don't use them much as when they scratch around, they cover them in wood shavings and then can't get at the water, but they like the slightly larger green and white drinkers, even though they still throw shavings over them too, and I have to keep cleaning them out.  They are hanging up, but I can't put them up too high or the chicks wont be able to reach the water!  I have put the small drinkers on egg trays though and that helps a bit. Se trata de disfrutar de la vida en su nuevo cobertizo ampliado clueca. Ellos tienen 2 lámparas de calor allí como en su un espacio mucho más grande, con 3 alimentadores y 4 bebedores. No he utilizado a través de los alimentadores esta vez como después de sólo 2 días, los demás pollitos estaban utilizando los comederos como perchas! Así que compró 3 5kgs alimentadores como se puede ver en las fotos para seguir. Los pollitos les empezó a utilizar inmediatamente, y aunque he puesto 2 de la pequeña roja y blanca bebedores en el cobertizo, no utilizan mucho como cuando en torno a cero, que cubren en virutas de madera y, a continuación, no se puede obtener en el agua, pero al igual que la poco más grande, verde y blanco, los bebedores, a pesar de que todavía arrojar virutas demasiado sobre ellos, y tengo que llevar a cabo la limpieza. Se trata de colgar, pero no puedo ponerlos demasiado altos o los polluelos no será capaz de llegar el agua! me han puesto los pequeños bebedores de bandejas de huevos y que, aunque ayuda un poco .

I weighed them today, and they are between 50 and 70 gms, so that isn't bad from a 39gms hatch weight a week ago! Yo les pesó el día de hoy, y que tienen entre 50 y 70 gramos, por lo que no es mala 39gms de una escotilla de peso hace una semana!

What about these for a set of wings then?  Not bad for a week old eh?????? ¿Qué acerca de estas para un conjunto de alas entonces? No está mal para una semana de edad eh ??????

They all seem happy enough don't they? Todos ellos parecen bastante feliz que no?

The Babcock's are doing well too.  34 have now already gone to their new homes, and all the rest are pre-booked, so they will go as soon as they reach point of lay.  I've also got orders for 39 of the new Amberlinks too! El de Babcock están haciendo demasiado bien. 34 ya han ido a sus nuevos hogares, y todo el resto son reservadas con antelación, por lo que se vaya tan pronto como se alcance el punto de establecer. He también tiene pedidos de 39 de la nueva Amberlinks demasiado!

Keeping chickens is now getting very popular, and its not surprising when you hear stories like the one yesterday about the free range farm in norfolk, or should I say supposedly free range farm?  That farmer should be ashamed of himself keeping chickens in those conditions!  It's not surprising that I can't keep up with my egg orders!  I wanted to keep at least 8 of the Babcock's to add to my 10 laying hens, but I've got too many orders and nto enough chickens!  But hopefully I can keep some of the new Amberlinks! Mantenimiento de los pollos está recibiendo muy popular, y no su sorprendente cuando escuche historias como la de ayer libre acerca de la gama granja en Norfolk, o debería decir, supuestamente libre, granja? Ese agricultor debería avergonzarse de sí mismo de mantenimiento de los pollos en esas condiciones! No es sorprendente que no puedo seguir con mi huevo órdenes! Quería mantener al menos el 8 de la Babcock para añadir a mis 10 gallinas ponedoras, pero tengo demasiados pedidos y no basta con los pollos! Pero no puedo esperar mantener algunos de los nuevos Amberlinks! lol jajaja

We had to get a new freezer which arrived yesterday for our meat chickens, some more of them are going tomorrow!  It will be interesting to see how much they weigh now!  the cockerals are like baby elephants!  I haven't weighed them for over a week as they don't fit in anything I've got, so they have to wait now until they are culled, then I'll weigh them. Tuvimos que conseguir un nuevo congelador, que llegó ayer para nuestros pollos de carne, más algunos de ellos se van mañana! Será interesante ver cuánto pesan ahora! Cockerals el bebé son como los elefantes! No me he pesado más de ellos para a la semana, ya que no encajan en nada tengo, por lo que tienen que esperar ahora hasta que sean sacrificados, y luego voy a pesar.
