Well, the new Babcock chicks are 15 days old today, and I took a couple of photographs of them and gave them a weigh-in!  Their average weight is now 105 gms each, which isn't bad as when I tried to weigh them last week, they only seemed to be just over 42gms.  So they must have been smaller than the Amberlinks at the same age. Bueno, la nueva Babcock pollitos de 15 días de edad el día de hoy, y me tomó un par de fotografías de ellos y les dio un pesar-en! Su peso medio es ahora 105 gramos cada una, que no es malo como cuando traté de pesar la semana pasada, que sólo parecía ser un poco más de 42gms. Así que debe haber sido más pequeño que el Amberlinks a la misma edad.

They still look really dinky though!  Had to take one out today as she was being pecked.  I sprayed her with purple spray, but the others still kept pecking her.  Then I tried the vaseline and liquid paraffin.  Okay, it sort of worked as when each one pecked her, they got a nasty taste and didn't do it anymore, but they were all having a peck,  so I took her out and put her in a big box in the dining room.  I've put another with her for company, and I'll keep them in there for a couple of days until her tail heals a bit. Todavía ves realmente bien Dinky! Tuvo que tomar una hoy, ya que se está pecked. Me rociaron con su spray morado, pero los otros aún mantienen su picoteo. Luego he intentado la vaselina y parafina líquida. Then when I weighed some of the meat chicks!!!!!  2 of the White ones weighed in at 1.75kgs, and the brown and grey ones came in at  1.45 kgs as they are slower growing!    Hubby thought the grey ones looked bigger though! Luego, cuando me pesaba algunos de los pollitos de carne !!!!! 2 de la Blanca que pesa en al 1.75kgs, y el marrón y gris que llegó al 1,45 kgs, ya que son cada vez más lento! Pensaba que el Cielo gris que parecía más bien !

They are very funny to watch though when they are out in the run.  they run around like maniacs, then suddenly sit down as if it's all too much!  Although they are getting heavier, they do have strong legs to hold them, unlike the poor little things kept in broiler sheds who haven't got the strength to stand up, let alone fly around!  They use their wings to help them get along.  Along 2 sides of the big house, there is a concrete ledge about 1ft wide and it very quickly warms up in the sunshine.  They love sitting on it sunbathing! Ellos son muy divertidos para ver, aunque cuando están en la carrera. Corren en torno a como maníacos, y luego de repente se sienten como si es demasiado! A pesar de que son cada vez más pesados, tienen las piernas fuertes para sostenerlos, a diferencia de los pobres pequeñas cosas mantendrán en parrilla arroja que no tiene la fuerza para levantarse, y mucho menos en torno a volar! Ellos usan sus alas para ayudar a obtener a lo largo de ellos. A lo largo de los 2 lados de la casa grande, hay un conocimiento concreto acerca de 1 pie de ancho y que se calienta muy rápidamente en el sol. Les encanta sentarse en él para tomar el sol!

Oh and I forgot to tell you, that when we went to pick up the new chicks, we also ordered another 250 Amberlink day olds.  They will be hatched the week of 16 June, so there will be some more babies to look after!!  They'll reach point of lay mid October! Ah y me olvidé de decirles, que cuando fuimos a recoger a los nuevos polluelos, también ordenó a otras 250 Amberlink días de edad. Se rayada la semana del 16 de junio, por lo que serán algunos más los bebés que cuidar! Van a punto de llegar a establecer mediados de octubre!
