I thought this week was going by too easily!!! Pensé que esta semana iba demasiado fácilmente!

There we were, still trying to get the big house extended ready for the surge of 300 chicks.  But hubby's leg is playing up again, so he's only working at half strength at the moment. Allí estaban, todavía tratando de obtener la casa grande extendido listo para el aumento de 300 pollitos. Sin embargo, esposo de la pierna está jugando de nuevo, por lo que el único trabajo a la mitad de la fuerza en el momento.

I went out last night in the pouring rain, leaving the invalid on the sofa, to feed and water the chicks and shut the POL's up for the night.  Opened the door of the small shed to take out the water bell, and noticed a small pool of water on the floor making the shavings look yuck and thought I'd spilled some water as I was picking the bell up.  But no, when I came back with the fresh water, I looked up, and where hubby had nailed the new roof felt down, water was leaking in.  the roof was sodden!!!!!  so I went and got some new dry shavings and chucked loads of that down so the chicks had something dry to sit on and to help soak up the water.  thankfully it was only a small puddle! Salí anoche en la lluvia torrencial, dejando a los no válidos en el sofá, y para alimentar a los polluelos de agua y cerrar la del POL para la noche. Abrió la puerta de la pequeña nave para sacar el agua de campana, y notó una pequeña Piscina de agua en el suelo virutas de hacer de la mirada y el pensamiento Puaj me derramó un poco de agua cuando estaba recogiendo hasta la campana. Pero no, cuando regresé con el agua dulce, me miró, y cuando esposo había clavado el nuevo consideró el techo, el agua estaba goteando del techo pulg fue sodden !!!!! así que me fui y tengo algunas nuevas seco y virutas de cargas mandril de modo que los polluelos tiene algo seco para sentarse y para ayudar a absorber el agua. afortunadamente sólo fue un pequeño charco!

Then I went outside to see what i could do.  If I'd left it, they could have been drowned by this morning! Luego fui fuera para ver lo que yo podía hacer. Si me deja, que podría haber sido ahogado por esta mañana!

So looking around the garden for inspiration, I remembered hubby had had the damp proof plastic stuff he'd got to put under the concrete in the workshop he'd built.  Its really thick stuff, so I cut off a 7 foot piece and where it had been sitting on the grass, it was full of water so I got covered whilst trying to chuck it on the shed roof.  Then I had to find the steps which were hiding behind some long bits of wood near the workshop.  Luckily the side security light was helping me to see what I was doing, so I got up the ladder but it took me ages to get the plastic spread out enough as it was so wide and the rain was pelting down.  Then the light went out, and I was in almost total darkness!!!! Por lo tanto, mirando el jardín de inspiración, me acordé esposo había tenido la prueba de humedad cosas de plástico que había llegado al puesto bajo el hormigón en el taller que había construido. Sus cosas realmente gruesas, por lo que cortar una pieza de 7 pies y en los que se había sentado en el césped, se llena de agua por lo que se refiere al tiempo que se trata de tirar sobre el techo del cobertizo. Entonces yo tenía que encontrar las medidas que se escondían detrás de algunos bits de largo de madera cerca del taller. Afortunadamente, el lado luz de seguridad me estaba ayudando a ver lo que estaba haciendo, así que se levantó la escalera, pero me tomó las edades para obtener el plástico extendido lo suficiente, ya que fue tan amplia y la lluvia fue el desuello. A continuación, la luz salió, y yo fue casi total en la oscuridad!!

Anyway, spread most of the plastic over the roof, then got down the ladder and went round the side and pulled it out straight, then went to find some long bits of heavy wood to hold it down in case the whole lot blew away! By the time I'd finished feeding all the chicks and went back indoors, I was soaked!  Hubby came into the kitchen and said alright love???!!!!! Anyway, they are fine this morning, but I've had to raise their infra red lamps again, as it gets really warm in the sheds.  The chicks are so big now, we must get them into the big house this weekend.  They are running out of room.  Wish we had a family near who you could ask for a bit of help now and then.  Would be nice. En cualquier caso, se multa esta mañana, pero he tenido que criar a sus lámparas infra rojo una vez más, como se pone realmente caliente en los cobertizos. Los pollitos son tan grandes ahora, tenemos que conseguir que en la gran casa este fin de semana.
