  • Another Weigh-in today! Ein weiterer Weigh-in today!

    Well, the new Babcock chicks are 15 days old today, and I took a couple of photographs of them and gave them a weigh-in!  Their average weight is now 105 gms each, which isn't bad as when I tried to weigh them last week, they only seemed to be just over 42gms.  So they must have been smaller than the Amberlinks at the same age. Nun, die neuen Babcock Küken sind 15 Tage alt sind heute, und ich habe ein paar Fotos von ihnen und gaben ihnen ein wiegen-in! Ihre durchschnittliche Gewicht beträgt jetzt 105 gms jeder, der ist nicht schlecht, wie wenn ich versuchte, sie wiegen letzte Woche, sie schien nur zu etwas mehr als 42gms. Also sie müssen kleiner sein als die Amberlinks in der gleichen Altersgruppe.
    They still look really dinky though!  Had to take one out today as she was being pecked.  I sprayed her with purple spray, but the others still kept pecking her.  Then I tried the vaseline and liquid paraffin.  Okay, it sort of worked as when each one pecked her, they got a nasty taste and didn't do it anymore, but they were all having a peck,  so I took her out and put her in a big box in the dining room.  I've put another with her for company, and I'll keep them in there for a couple of days until her tail heals a bit. Sie sehen wirklich noch dinky obwohl! Mußte sich ein, wie sie heute wurde pecked. Ich besprüht sie mit lila-Spray, aber die anderen noch gehalten picken sie. Dann versuchte ich die Vaseline und flüssige Paraffin. Okay, es Art arbeitete als wenn jeder ein pecked ihr, sie bekam einen fiesen Geschmack und tat es nicht mehr, aber sie wurden alle mit einem Peck, so habe ich sie aus und legen sie in einer großen Box in den Speisesaal. Ich habe die anderen mit für ihr Unternehmen, und ich werde sie in dort für ein paar Tage bis zu ihrem Schwanz heilt ein bisschen. (…)
