Late Again!
Is it really almost 2 weeks since I posted last? Well, the first lot of meat chickens have either gone to their new homes or in a freezer somewhere. We had our first one last Sunday, and it was very tasty! We are having another one today!
There are another 10 in the shed on finisher and they will be dispatched this Thursday. That will be the last of the white JA757's. I've got a few people now who want to buy some to try, but so far the comments are very good! Weights are better too, when this lot went into the brooder shed (the only spare shed I have at the moment!) they were weighing (live weight) between 3.75 and 4kgs and still growing!
If anyone is near enough to us in Bicker, and wants to try one, please contact me.
The Babcock's continue to do well and are weighing on average 600gms, But I haven't really had much excitement from the chooks this past week, which is why I haven't updated my postings I suppose. The only thing that has happened is with the sudden downturn in the weather, the layers are not laying many eggs. for 3 days I've only had 4-5 eggs a day from 10 layers!!!!
But here's the latest photo's of the Babcock's!
