Time Flies!!!!!
Where does the time go to eh? Nearly 2 weeks since I posted last. Only seems like a few days, but they say time goes by quicker as you get older!
Well, a few more pullets have gone to new homes now, but we still have about 250, so I hope they don't start laying just yet. what do you do with 250 eggs a day???? lol
2 weeks ago I put an advert in the Lincolnshire Free Press. I did it online, and asked for it to go into the LFP on 15th January. the first date it gave me. Cost £10.68. Well, we bought the paper, couldn't see anything, there was a column for farming, nothing! There was a bit for pets, nothing! There was nothing for poultry or chickens. So I called them. First person said oh you'll have to call the website manager, its nothing to do with us, so called them to be told it was giong in the Spalding Guardian on 24th January!!!!! When I complained they passed me over to the Advetising lady, and she said no, its not going in the Guradian its in the LFP this week. Where I asked? Page 76 down the bottom next to the purple advert. What title did it go under then I said as we couldn't see it. It's under ITEMS FOR SALE.
Honestly! Who'd look under ITEMS for sale for chickens???? There was no apology, no offer of a freebie for the following week!!!!! But I don't want to put it in the Boston paper as there are regularly people who advertise there for POL pullets, but haven't seen them in the Spalding one or the LFP. Got adverts in a few places now, but the one that gets most hits is my blog, so thank you John for helping to make this a lovely little blog!
Well its still very muddy outside, but the girls love the polytunnel where they can dustbathe in peace and its nice and dry. I give them their corn in there in the afternoons too, as with a little bit of sun its lovely and warm in there for them. But I just need to sell another 250 pullets so we can get our meat chicks!!!
Oh and do you remember the 2 chicks that swallowed the string? We saw them the other week, they are still going strong! We knew it was them because I'd put a purple spot on their heads when I put them in the 'hospital'!!!

Hi Babe, no eggs yet, thank goodness!!!! I'm trying to get your 2 over to you soonest, but because of problems with my eldest daughter, her boyfriend's parents don't think they can take any chooks on at the moment. Boyfriend still says he will deliver your two when he comes over, but don't know when that will be. They may have to walk!!!! I'll put Sat Nav on their beaks!!!!
